Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1. Transfer from Moshi to Machame Camp (5-6 hours)
Wake up in the morning, enjoy sumptuous breakfast, meet your local guide who will brief you about this safari in Tanzania and set off. Travel through Machame village, arrive at Machame Gate where you will meet fellow hikers and porters to mark the start of your hike.
Trek through a wet and lush forest which is filled with wildlife like primates and birds. Have a picnic lunch, proceed to Machame Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2. Transfer from Machema Camp to Shira Camp (4-6 hours)
After delicious breakfast, set off for the hike, trek the rocky ridge traversing the valley and here you will have left the muddy jungles. This route turns westwards to a River gorge, have lunch picnic, proceed to Shira Camp where you will have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3. Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp (6-8 hours)
In the morning you transfer from Shira Camp and hike East of a ridge to the junction that joins Kibo peak you continue and the trial changes South East to the Lava Tower and this is called Shark’s Tooth, you will have a picnic lunch, after that, you will reach the junction that connects to the Arrow Glaciers, continue to Barranco Camp where you will have an overnight stay and for acclimatization.
Day 4. Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp then to Barafu 8-10 hours
After an early breakfast, you will leave Barranco, hike a steep ridge passing via Barranco wall to Karanga Valley, then continue to hit the junction that connects to Mweka trail, continue to Barafu Camp and by now you will have completed the Southern Circuit which presents to you Summit view from all the angles.
Proceed to Barafu Camp, have an early dinner and prepare for midnight hike. By this point, you will be able to view Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.
Day 5. From Barafu Camp to the Summit then to Mweka Camp (10-14 hours)
On this day, prepare to start your journey by midnight or 2am; hike through Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers, you will ascend to Northwest through a heavy scree, connect to Stella point on the Crater rim. This is the most challenging and hectic point on this trek.
At Stella point, you are likely to encounter strong sunrise, best hikers might view sunrise from the peak.
Continue hiking for an hour, going through a ground full of snow, hike for 1 hour and reach Uhuru Summit which is the highest point on Kilimanjaro Mountain. Here you are on top of Africa. Make celebrations, take pictures and videos, shed some tears of joy when you flashback on how you began the hike. Descend to Mweka Camp with a stopover at Barafu Camp for lunch and later descend to Mweka which is situated on the upper side of the forest; weather here is unpredictable and anytime it could rain and the terrain is slippery.
You are excepted to have rain jackets and warm cloths on, but as you descend, the temperatures keep on changing. Arrive at Mweka for dinner and overnight.
Day 6. Descend from Mweka Camp to Moshi 3-4 hours
After breakfast, descend to Mweka gate where you will be rewarded with a certificate. The ground turns to be wet and muddy, gaiters and trekking poles are recommended. From Mweka gate, you proceed to Mweka Village where you will meet your Safari guide who will transfer you to Moshi hotel for lunch and dinner.

Day 7. Transfer from Moshi to Ngorongoro conservation area
You will wake up for lazy breakfast, checkout of the lodge and set off for Ngorongoro Crater, have lunch enroute and proceed to the lodge in Ngorongoro area. Arrive in the evening, check-in the lodge and go for an evening game drive to spot some animals like buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, rhinos, zebras to mention but a few. Retire to the lodge in the late evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 8. Game drive and transfer to Serengeti National Park
Wake up in the early morning and go for game drive, hike along the Crater which is the biggest crater in the world with spectacular views and with much concentration of wildlife seen at the crater. Descend into the crater to meet rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, lions, cheetahs, gazelles, antelopes, hippopotamus and crocodiles not forgetting butterflies, birds and beautiful tree species.
Return to the lodge, have breakfast and check-out for a transfer to Serengeti National Park with lunch enroute. Arrive at the park headquarters in the late evening, check-in at the lodge, have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9. Full day game drive in Serengeti National Park.
Wake up in the early morning, enjoy breakfast, have your lunch packed and get lost in the jungle. Be welcomed by the Big 5 and sight the herds of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, antelopes, impalas, cheetahs, spotted hyenas and birds.
Have a picnic lunch near Grumeti River as you spot vast herds of wildebeests traversing River Grumeti back and forth, visit so many animal view points to clearly see mammals and birds. If you visit Serengeti National Park in the season between June and August, you will encounter vast wildebeest migration which has always attracted the attention of predators from far and near to come and make their kills. Retire to the lodge in the late evening after sunset, have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10. Game drive and transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport
Wake up in the morning. Have breakfast, load your luggage in the car. Checkout and go for your last game drive to spot animals. Here they are very active in the morning and you will be checking out of the lodge.
You might be lucky to spot some animals and birds that you didn’t see in the previous game drive. Have lunch enroute, your safari driver will either drop you at the Airport or at the hotel depending on your flight schedule.
