This 5 days Mount. Kilimanjaro hiking safari will take you to Africa’s highest mountain, with beautiful viewing points and amazing creatures. The hike will start from Marangu gate and end at Uhuru summit. This safari requires one to be physically fit enough for the best of their hiking adventure.
Walk through the forest and moorland where you get a chance to spot and record amazing bird species and primates. Proceed through various altitude levels and camps like Kibo hut, Mandara hut and finally to Uhuru Peak.

Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Marangu gate.
Depending on the agreed pick up location, after you’ve had breakfast, our professional driver guide will probably pick and brief you about the safari then after drive to Marangu gate. Start your hike by walking through the thick rain forest which will take you about 4 hours to access Mandara hut, at 2,750metres above sea level. Getting to the hut, relax have your dinner and stay for a night.
Day 2: Hike through lower forest zone
On day 2, wake up for breakfast and start your journey and pass through the forest and savannah area heading to Horombo hut which is about 3,489 metres above sea level. You will record different bird species, beautiful flowers, amazing savannah flora species and other wildlife species. Proceed to the hut for relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Proceed to Kibo hut
Rise up early morning for breakfast and later begin yet another day of hiking to Kibo hut which is 4,703 metres above sea level. This hike will take you about 5 to 7 hours as you travel through the terrains between Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Proceed to the camp site and relax waiting for dinner.
Day 4: Depart to Uhuru Peak
On day 4 of your hike, have your well prepared breakfast and embark on a trek again. This is the most challenging and sharpest point of your hike and it can take about 5 hours to get to the pinnacle point. Reaching on the top, you will admire beautiful views of Kibo, Mawenzi and stunning plains beneath. Continue and walk around craters for about 45 minutes and later reach Uhuru summit.
Day 5: Retreat and departure
On this day, wake up early morning for breakfast and pack all your luggage as you plan to start descending to Marangu gate. Meet your safari guide to drive you back to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and some relaxation. Depending on time, you will be dropped at the airport as per the flight schedule.
