Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Nairobi City tour
Upon arrival, our driver guide will pick you from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, give a briefing about your stay in Kenya and then take a City tour as you are acclimatizing. Visit numerous historical sites including Nairobi museum, local markets, interact with the locals, you will later go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
You will wake up in the morning, have a sumptuous breakfast checkout of the lodge and embark on the journey to Amboseli National Park, you will arrive in the afternoon hours, check-in at the hotel, have lunch, relax and at around 3:00pm, go for evening game drive where you will be welcomed by the herds of elephants, buffaloes, leopards, lions and black rhinos.
Enjoy the magical views that Mountain Kilimanjaro gives from Amboseli national park. You will enjoy the game drive, then later your driver guide will take you back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Full day game drive in Amboseli National Park.
On this day, you will enjoy game drives twice. The first game drive penetrates into the wilderness in early morning before breakfast to catch up with the animals when they are very active. There is also evening game drive when the sun is setting and most nocturnal animals like lions, leopards, bush babies, hyenas, jackals are coming back hungry.
Have a fantastic game drive in the morning only to be welcomed by the lions’ kills, leopards and other cats. This is a rare adventure but worth taking. Later retire to the lodge in the evening, relax, have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer from Amboseli to Masai Mara via Nairobi.
You will wake up in the early morning, have breakfast and set off for Masai Mara. The distance is a bit long and will take about 7 hours but with stopovers for scenic view and lunch enroute in Nairobi.
Stopovers tend make the distance look short and less tiresome. Arrive at your accommodation in Masai Mara in evening, have dinner and rest as you wait for full day game drive the next day.
Day 5 & 6. Full day game drives in Masai Mara
These two days will enable you to exploit the park’s hidden treasures especially the African Big 5 which are lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and rhinos as seen in their natural habitat. You will be able to spot other wildlife like giraffes, gazelles, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, iconic wildebeests, birds like superb sterling, klaas’s cuckoo, saddle billed storks, plovers, eagles and so many others not forgetting the scavenger birds like vultures.
If you visit Masai Mara National Park in the season between August and October, you will be able to meet the mighty migration of wildebeests traversing Mara River to Serengeti National Park. The migration always attracts predators like lions, leopards, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, vultures and crocodiles all closer to these wildebeests and they always attempt to make a kill. You will have your picnic lunch, retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Masai Village experience and departure
Wake up in the morning, grab a cup of coffee/tea. Checkout of the lodge and visit the Masai tribe in Narok area. They will entertain you through vibrant songs, dances, storytelling, names and their meanings. You will have lunch enroute and then proceed to Nairobi to catch your flight back home or to next destination.
