Detailed Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival at Entebbe International Airport and City tour

You will arrive at the Airport where you will find your safari guide waiting for you, he will brief you about the journey and then go for a city tour. You will visit Uganda Museum which is the oldest in East Africa, visit Nakasero market which is a source of fresh fruits, visit Independence monument, have scenic views of all 7 hills of Kampala. However due to the City expansion, they have gone beyond 7 hills, later retire to the hotel, relax and wait for the next destination the following day.

Day 2. Transfer to Kibale National Park and Cultural tour

You will wake up early in the morning, greet your intestines with breakfast and by 7:30 am, set off to the Western Uganda where you will be visiting the chimpanzees. The journey is a bit long but it will be spiced up with stopovers for scenic view and lunch en-route. Arrive at the Park in the evening, check-in and go for a cultural tour.

Here you will be visiting the Bakiga tribe and Banyoro who occupy the land adjacent to Bigodi swamp. They will welcome you with wider smiles, dance for you, sing for you and all sorts of entertainment. You will later go back to the lodge in the late evening where you will spend a night from and dinner.

Day 3. Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will wake up in the early morning, grab yourself a cup of coffee/tea and go to Kanyanchu which is the park headquarters for briefing and allocation of chimpanzee families to track. Kibale National Park inhabits the largest population of chimpanzees in the whole world, so visiting this Park give you 100% sure to meet these endangered primates.

Get assigned to a chimpanzee family ready for trekking, you will be with a guide who will lead you to the Chimpanzees. Trekking usually takes between 2-4 hours depending on how far the chimpanzees spent their last night. You will be given a full hour in the presence of the chimpanzees, take pictures and videos as much as you can and later go back to the lodge for lunch a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After lunch, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will be going for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel, boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth is a fascinating experience since it pulls all the park animals and birds to come and cool their bodies. You will spot herds of elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs and lions. You will later go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4. Game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Get up in the early morning, have breakfast and set off for game drive via Isasha sector to meet the tree climbing lions. You will spot a lot of antelopes, herds of elephants, buffaloes, leopards resting in the tree branches plus a lot of birds. Proceed as you say a farewell to the Park and hit the road to Bwindi. You will have lunch en-route and then go ahead with the journey.

Arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the evening, check-in briefly and go for cultural tour. The culture you will encounter is for Batwa Pygmies. These are known as men of the forest. They will be entertaining you, dance for you, show how they lived in the ancient life. They as well have a craft shop where you can buy some souvenirs. Later retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5. Gorilla trekking and relaxation at the lodge

Wake up in the early morning, have your scrumptious breakfast and go to the park headquarters for briefing by the ranger guide who will allocate you the gorilla family to trek as you’re with a ranger who is knowledgeable and will take you to meet these gigantic primates.

Upon meeting them, you will have the best moment with them, spending an hour watching how they feed their young ones, how they discipline them, take pictures and videos as many as you can. You will go back to the park headquarters where you will meet your guide and transfer you to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. You will have some good time to collect the energy of hitting the road to Rwanda the next day.

Day 6. Cross to Rwanda – Volcanoes National Park

You wake up in the morning, have breakfast, checkout of the lodge and say a farewell as you proceed to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Have lunch en-route, arrive in the Park in the evening, check-in the lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Day 7. Golden monkey tracking and Ibyiwacu Cultural tour

Have a lovely breakfast and go to the park headquarters where you will be given trekking etiquettes and then go to the wilderness. You will enjoy these monkeys, as you also see many birds, enjoy their presence by taking so many pictures and videos as you can, later you will transfer to the lodge for lunch as you wait for the afternoon visit of the Iby’iwacu.

Visit this cultural site which demonstrates Rwandan culture through dances, songs, names, to mention but a few. You will enjoy this evening, later in the evening go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8. Fly to Arusha – and drive to Ngorongoro conservation area

Wake up in the early morning, have breakfast packed and embark on your journey to Kigali. You will immediately fly to Arusha in northern Tanzania.

Upon landing, your Tanzanian guide will be ready to meet and drive you northwards to Ngorongoro area. This is quite a long journey but worth experiencing because of the expected results of fascinating landscape, wildlife and scenic views. You will arrive in the late evening, have dinner and overnight.

Day 9. Full day game drive in Ngorongoro

On the 9th day, you will have the full day game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, the park possesses the largest crater in the world. You will spot a lot of animals like elephants, buffaloes, leopards, lions, zebras, birds, butterflies and so many other wildlife. Have a picnic lunch, proceed with the experience till sunset, go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10. Game drive and transfer to Serengeti National Park

You wake up, have a lovely breakfast, go for a game drive taking the rout that will lead you out of the park and saying a farewell Ngorongoro Crater. You catch the animals when they are very active in the morning, spot leopards hunting antelopes, lions putting down a buffalo such a fascinating experience.
Proceed and arrive in Serengeti National Park in the afternoon hours, check-in the lodge, have lunch and later in the evening go for evening game drive in search of lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, and rhinos and these are the Big 5 of Africa’s jungle. Encounter other animals like wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, birds among others, you will retire to the lodge in the late evening as you go for dinner and overnight.

Day 11-12. Full day game drive in Serengeti National Park

In these 2 days, you will be arising in the morning, have breakfast, get your lunch packed and get lost in the wilderness. You will spot wildebeests traversing River Grumeti in a thousands of numbers. They will be crossing back and forth in search of green pastures, this migration happens annually and it attracts predators like lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals, vultures and other small scavengers. You enjoy the endless plains of Serengeti which have open grasslands and are packed with animals. Retire to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight.

Day 13. Cross to Kenya; Masai Mara National reserve and game drive

You will wake up in the morning, do a game drive as you head to Maasai Mara in Kenya and saying a farewell to Tanzania. Arrive in the afternoon, check-in the lodge accommodation, have lunch and then go for the evening game drive to sport some near by animals like lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and rhinos. Zebras, gazelles, cheetahs. You will later go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 14. Full day game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve

This is the best day to sum up the entire Safari. You will wake up in the morning, have breakfast, get your lunch packed and embark on game drive, you will enter deep in the jungle closer to the Mara River to see how wildebeests traverse Mara River coming from Serengeti National Park. This is the largest animal migration in the whole world, happening annually.

The movement of wildebeests, zebras traversing Mara River back and forth is such an interesting experience and unforgettable one. Have picnic lunch as you view these animals and predators are always just adjacent tempting to make a kill for their meal. You will retire to the lodge in the evening, have dinner and overnight.

Day 15. Transfer to Nairobi and departure

On the last day, you will have a lazy breakfast and check-out of the lodge. Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta Airport in Nairobi. Have lunch en-route and depending on your time of flight, your safari driver will either drop you at the Airport or at the hotel marking the End of 15 Days Safari.
