3-Day Lake Nakuru & Lake Naivasha Safari – Kenya’s Rift Valley Gems

3 Days Lake Nakuru & Naivasha Safari is one of the best tours for birdwatching opportunities and no birder should ever miss this safari. This is because the two lakes are found in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley and they are breeding zones for variety of bird species.

Travelers should expect to spot some of these bird species like; flamingos, grey crowned cranes, Kenya rufous sparrow, Hottentot teal, jacana, great white pelicans and so much more. Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Lake Naivasha

Your safari driver will pick you from the hotel in Nairobi, offer a short briefing and then transfer to Lake Naivasha. As you approach the park, have stopover at the gate to have a spectacular views of Mara plains and then proceed to the interior.

Have picnic lunch during your game drive and check-in at the lodge in the evening hours. You may as well decide to go for boat cruise on this Lake and spot crocodiles, hippopotamuses, water ducks and so much more.

You can decide to stay at the lodge as you enjoy beautiful sceneries of the lodge in a natural environment. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Transfer from Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, the driver guide will transfer you to Lake Nakuru where you will reach in the afternoon hours, check-in at the lodge accommodation, have lunch and then embark on afternoon game drive in the wilderness of the Park.

There are opportunities of meeting lots of animals like lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos, giraffes, elands, Topis, and gazelles. You will proceed to Lake Nakuru where you will find it shaded with pink colors of flamingo birds, pelicans and species of birds. You will retire back to your lodge in the late evening, relax and have an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer from Lake Nakuru back to Nairobi

On your last day, wake up for breakfast and go for morning game drive. Use the trails that are animal – concentrated and lead you out of the park. Meet most of the animals in the morning when they are still very active.

Spot lions, southern black rhinos, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, and thousands of birds. You will wind up from the park premises. Head back to Nairobi where you will have lunch. Be dropped at the hotel or airport depending on flight time and schedule.
